Wetherbees, Inc. designs and manufactures electronics devices for our own products and also for clients. We offer complete development services, including PCB layout, firmware, and prototyping. We are especially proud of our mixed signal work, involving the integration of microcontrollers and analog control.

Here at Wetherbees, Inc. we do a lot of microcontroller development work. The darned little things have become so inexpensive and flexible that they are the Swiss Army knives of the electronics world. Where it used to take a whole board full of logic chips, we now stick in one chip and call it good. Even a lot of the analog work now gets done with a microcontroller or DSP. Add to that interface support for USB, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and several RF protocols, and it's easy to see why microcontrollers are hidden inside of nearly every product these days.

We are especially found of the Microchip family of microcontrollers, although we don't limit ourselves to them. At Wetherbees Inc. we spend much of our time in that gray area between analog and digital. Our favorite designs tie analog inputs to power outputs through a microcontroller. Throw in a USB or Ethernet port and you pretty much make our day. I don't know about you, but I still keep a bag of 2N2222A transistors in my parts supply. Wetherbees Inc. maintains full CAD capabilities for designing and fabricating multi-layer printed circuit boards. We use this extensively for our own product development, but we are always happy to share our expertise with our clients.

We like lighting. Well, perhaps not all lighting, but we really like LEDs. What's not to like: bright colors, cool operation, good efficiency. On the other hand, they can be tricky to control. LED lighting controllers look more like a digital power supply than a light dimmer. We have a number of good solutions, ranging from microcontroller based systems to dedicated ICs.
